Freakin' Out 02:35
I was a good kid I'm not a good adult Wish I could pass the blame but it's all my fault 'Cause bad decisions are always the easy ones 'Cause bad decisions are always the fun ones I'm freakin' out Can't seem to figure it out How does everyone else learn to accept this? Newfound maturity and lack of childhood bliss 'Cause I've never felt so out of step But now I don't even know which foot comes next And I'm freakin' out Can't seem to figure it out Just why I've gotta do without

I'm hangin' on Hangin' on to you And when I lose my grip You go and slap my wrist And break my heart You know you break my heart You're passing through But like a ghost I'll pass right through you too 'Cause I never meant anything else to you Like two ghosts we'll pass right through you too 'Cause I'm hangin' on Hangin' on to you And when I lose my grip You go and slit my wrists And break my heart You know you break my heart You're passing through But like a ghost I'll pass right through you too 'Cause I never meant anything else to you Like two ghosts we'll pass right through you too

Real 02:09
I don't really care for any of you But you look so cool when you sip your drinks and run fingers over fresh tattoos But you're not real and none of you are real Just reaching for a fake ideal Oh 'cause you're not real and none of you are real Just reaching for a fake idea 'Cause you don't know me but control the way I feel I know that it's not your fault but if you're wondering what's my deal it's that... You're not real and none of you are real Just reaching for a fake ideal Oh 'cause you're not real and none of you are real Just reaching for a fake idea 'Cause you're not listening None of you are listening No You're not listening You're outside smoking You ain't listening

Rodney Blind 01:36
It took you too long to realize he was a snake But by the time you figured it out it was already too late And now we're fucked Thanks a lot What fools were we to discount the debates When it came time to show up Everyone was late And now we're fucked Thank you very much

Know It All 04:18
I would like to know how you know it all It's like the day you were born you woke up feeling so tall And I would like to know Just how you know it all I would like to know how you throw a ball and don't run after it too Because it feels like I'm always running after you And I would like to know Just how you know it all

All Used Up 03:16
Steve Steve doesn't like me I don't know why, maybe 'cause I never recognized who he was But I still compliment the quality of the records that he sells me But when I leave some free CDs That's when he kind of gets annoyed with me I can't get anywhere In this scene And if you've been stayin' in too long You know what I mean Am I just too old to hang on to the dream? I'm all used up so move on There's nothing more to see Chad He must not like me I even introduced myself but he still won't acknowledge me Maybe he thinks that I am something that I'm not Or maybe he doesn't care what I am and he just hates his job I can't get anywhere in this scene And if you've been stayin' in too long you know what I mean Am I just too old to hang on to the dream? I'm all used up so move on There's nothing more to see

about

Sleepy Drums began as the experimental side project of J.Stout while he was also playing in Little Trees and Dinosaurs and Thunder. As Stout's other projects drew to a close, Sleepy Drums came to the forefront and grew to include drummer Michael J Hamilton. The rest of the lineup rotated until 2017 when it was finally solidified with the additions of guitarist Joshua Bradbury and bassist Christopher Berning. With the desire to finally document the sound of the fleshed-out band, Sleepy Drums began recording "Cosmic Imagination Pt. II," the follow up to their 2015 EP.

"Cosmic Imagination Pt. II" pushes further the boundaries previously achieved by the band. The album powerfully represents their live set while also stretching to follow fresh muses. Within a mere 26 minutes, they take the listener on a musical journey; channeling their patented blend of punk, garage, psych and grunge rock into a track list which proves to be anything but predictable. Combining studio tracks with excerpts of improv practice jams, "Cosmic" keeps it's listener on the edge of their seat, without pretense and without demanding too much of their time. Stout and Bradbury create a searing wall of guitars while Berning fills in all gaps, and then some, with energetic walking bass lines. In addition, the supreme rhythm talent of Hamilton is finally brought to the forefront as the drums shine clearly through the mix of these songs, sending each piece barreling forward.

"Cosmic Imagination Pt. II" will be released by local Cincinnati recording label Lo Fi City on August 04, 2018. Physical copies (CD/Cassette) will be available at the release party taking place at Urban Artifact in Northside. The album will be available for streaming/download on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, GooglePlay and all other online services.
